Meet Martin - Customer Success Embodied
In this post you’ll have the pleasure of getting to know Martin Hallbeck. A huge hockey fan (Malmö Redhawks) and an impressive character, working out in the gym early mornings before hitting the office. Enjoy!
He never played hockey himself, it was always football on Martins agenda in his youth. But for some reason when it comes to being a fan, he felt for hockey and the team of his hometown Malmö, Redhawks is the once his cheering for. He lives with his girlfriend on walking distance from the arena and very seldom misses a match.
Not everyone working at TeQflo has an IT background, Martin for example has a background as business controller, a profession and experience he most definitely has a lot of benefit from at TeQflo. Although not totally unfamiliar with IT and tech, Martin personifies quit well the TeQflo vision of digitalisation: where human behavior meets tech.
Having worked a couple of years as a controller, Martin knows the needs and challenges when it comes to systems working for you.
So where did his journey begin?
- I studied Service Management Retail at Lund University and some economics as well, Says Martin, and continues:
- I guess I always enjoyed service and helping people, during my studying I also worked in a grocery shop, meeting customers everyday. It was very helpful for my development to try out those theories I was taught at the university in the store.
After his degree Martin climbed the corporate ladder, getting the role as business controller and business area controller. Things was going pretty well to say the least.
Although he acknowledge the risk of joining a startup, he didn’t have to think to long before joining the team.
- I worked with Henrik (TeQflos founder)before and I have a lot of respect for his persona, so when he asked me to join, I was in.
Martin saw the opportunity of personal growth and the chance to work in areas he hadn’t before as two main reasons for his decision.
-You might not get a chance like this again during a life time, being a part of building something together, it’s a lot of work, but the challenge and satisfaction is so much higher.
He also gives much credit to his new co-workers, acknowledging the various skills and competences that the people off TeQflo hold, having learnt a lot of new things already from his team mates.
He got to implement his skills in economics right away, helping a customer setting up a decision support system. Together with colleague Johnny Josefsson (who’s the IT wizard) Martins skills is a perfect match.
- Johnny works his technical magic and I make sure we get the right data flowing. Having the perspective of a controller is a benefit.
Besides helping our customers, he’s also responsible for TeQflos internal administration and economics.
Not everyone loves stuff like financial reporting, but lucky enough there’s people who do, like Martin and for us who doesn’t, systems like the ones he’s setting up now, will be of great help!
We’ll here from Martin in the future, just like we will from Henrik and Jonas as well as even more team members.
